Description: Siblings. The ones who bring out the very best . . . and the worst in us.

If not for them, we wouldn’t be who we are today. And regardless of how many squabbles or actual fights we’ve had, they are still family at the end of the day. Whether we’re still living in the same household as our sibling or no longer see each other that often, make an effort to show them how much they mean to us today.

If there’s hurt or baggage between the both of you, take the first step to reach out by extending forgiveness and love—in the way your sibling would appreciate and receive. It starts with knowing what your sibling’s love language is. Is it words of affirmation, physical touch, gifts, quality time, or acts of service?

This Siblings Day, let’s take a moment to show our love to the ones we’ve formed so many memories with. Tag your sibling in the comments below and share a few words on how you’d like to thank them for being in your life!

When it comes to our siblings, we’re usually quite careless with our words. But Proverbs 16:24 tells us that gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Send a text or make a call to let them know what you appreciate about them.

Sometimes, our siblings don’t need advice, especially when they’re going through a rough patch. Instead, a simple hug, pat on the back, or hand on the shoulder can make a world of difference.

Find out what they’re going through, and let your touch do the talking.

We all love gifts, especially when it’s something that we’ve been eyeing for a while. So let’s take advantage of the knowledge we have about our siblings’ likes and dislikes, and splurge a little (on them).

Let them know you’re thinking of them by sending them a surprise package or food delivery!

The busyness of life can easily distract us from making time for the people we love. Or sometimes, even if we’re physically present, our mind is somewhere else. But we can change this.

Why not plan a Covid-safe day out with your sibling and spend some uninterrupted quality time together?

We all want the best for our siblings, and are willing to do whatever it takes to help them achieve the best they can. But what if we’re actually imposing our own expectations on them instead of finding out what they really need? (And maybe it’s not a pep talk.)

Let’s do practical and helpful acts of service for them.
