Typography: Ephesians 2:22

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19-20

When we think about being part of a household, “chores” and “duties” probably come to mind sooner than “bond” and “togetherness”. But when we’re away from home and in a foreign country, household may remind us instead of the “home” and “family” that we all need.

And this is what God has given to us in each other as fellow believers. No matter where we are, we are not without a family, a “tribe”. The house that God gives us is built on Jesus Himself, and that is a rock solid foundation that will never break or give way. On top of that, the Spirit lives in us and confirms our place in this eternal home.

PRAY:
Father, when I feel adrift and don’t know where my place is, help me to remember that I always have a place in Your family. Help me to receive and give love to the church, trusting that You have lovingly given this to me for my good. When I feel empty, remind me that the Spirit is within me, and that Jesus did all His work to make sure that I am never empty, but filled completely with Your love.
