God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31

Typography: 2 Corinthians 4:16

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning—the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Genesis 1:31-2:2

When was the last time you looked at something God created and thought, Wow!

Now when was the last time you thought about your work and felt that it was good?

When we work, we’re meant to imitate God’s creative workmanship that He displayed from the beginning. From the intricacies of the smallest particle to the grandeur of the heavenly bodies, God worked to make them all. He delighted in all that He made, and His desire is for us to experience that joy when we work too, even if just a fraction of it.

Come, let’s ask Him to show us how all that He’s made—even work itself—is good.

REFLECT:
What’s toilsome about the work you do for others, for yourself, or in your jobs? If the Lord has made work good, what are some redemptive and praiseworthy aspects about these things that you do?
