This Month’s Theme:
A Hope That’s Eternal

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Artist’s Reflection

Every day, we are faced with new challenges, worries, fears. And now more than ever, we’re facing an uncertain future. How do we keep moving forward with all this weight on our shoulders?

The Bible reminds us that every single thing that troubles us now is only temporary compared to the hope that we have in Jesus. Today may present great trials but what a comfort it is to know that our God is greater than our troubles, and our God is forever!

Soon when He calls us home, all of our pain will be replaced with eternal joy. But until that day comes, Jesus promises us that His grace is sufficient for us to endure and overcome all that we might face.

Let us fix our eyes on Him – our eternal and living hope.

What does hope look like to you? Is it along the lines of , “I hope today’s going to be a nice day”, or “I hope dinner will be ready soon”? The thing is, most of us often see hope as passive, wishful thinking.

However, the hope that’s offered by God is neither passive nor is it mere wishful thinking. It’s described as an anchor for our souls, firm and secure (Hebrews 6:19), seeing us through trials and tribulations. And it’s this strong, firm hope that allows us to see beyond our daily toil and troubles, knowing our difficulties are temporary in the light of eternity (2 Corinthians 4:17)

If today, it feels like your troubles are keen on hanging around, take heart knowing they’ll have to flee for cover in the light and glory of our God – our source of eternal hope.

This month, we’re looking at A Hope That’s Eternal, and we would like you to discover along with us what it’s like to live a life with God as our source of hope.

Got a story to share on what hope looks like to you? How knowledge of this eternal hope has helped you persevere through your trials? Or the comfort in knowing there’s a hope that’s so firm and so secure in God? We’d love to hear from you!
